Good morning, y'all!
Today I'm very excited to share one of my
very favorite blogger friends with you.
Shari from Turnstyle Vogue.
Shari is one of my favorites for many reasons...
And it has nothing to do with these awesome scarves
I won during her giveaway last month!
LOL!
I love Shari because...
Her sense of style is unparalleled.
Her furniture makeovers make me drool.
Her home located on a filbert orchard in Oregon is unbelievable.
(Think magazine worthy)
And we both understand and relate to the competitiveness that comes with children being involved in sports.
In short, we're both sports freaks.
(Even if Oregon did beat Iowa. HA!)
Without further ado, check out Shari's top posts from the last year.
I'm sure you've seen these all over Pinterest.
They are SWEET!
After you, Shari!

Hey everyone!
I’m Shari from Turnstyle Vogue and I’m here to help Laura celebrate her one year anniversary.
Time sure flies!
Laura asked me to share what has been my most viewed post over the last 365 days.
It is so funny to look back and see what inspired (and “pinspired” lol) people the most. I have found there is no rhyme to the reason and while some projects take days and maybe a week or two to complete, the most popular might just take an hour or two.
After perusing my stats, I have found my top three viewed posts. One I was aware of, the other two surprised me. The funny thing? None of them have anything to do with furniture. Don’t feel bad for me (oh…because I know you were starting to) my furniture gets plenty of views and comments and the like, but these posts have been the three top people pleasers…
My Glam Glass Bottle Makeover
If you’ve seen this before, I’m not surprised. It continues to get pinned multiple times each day. I’ve mentioned before how this was just a “keep me busy” project while I was waiting for a piece of furniture to dry. In the end, I really liked how it turned out and have now started playing around with more bottle makeovers for fun home décor. It is amazing how once you remove labels, you really notice the uniqueness of what many consider ordinary bottles.
Family DIY Gift Challenge 2011
Every year at Christmas, the adults in my family get together and do a gift exchange - in the same general format as a White Elephant exchange - but the catch is that each gift must be homemade by the person giving the gift. It has been a fun challenge because the level of DIY skills vary between all of us, yet in the end, the creations are awesome. After the kids have all opened their gifts and dinner has been devoured, the exchange gets into full gear - just as a warm-up to a highly competitive multi-game, multi-prize session of Christmas Bingo for everyone, young and old and in-between.
Note to family:
This year, it is time to step it up even more.
Garbage Disposal Cleaning Cubes
These garbage disposal cleaning cubes made from vinegar and lemon were a huge hit with pinners. So much so that I have now seen a handful of others doing the same and being pinned.
That is what it is all about!
They really do work and are super easy to do. Well worth the few minutes of effort.
So which one was my most viewed?
Drumroll....
It was the Family DIY Gift Challenge.
It has edged out the other two with just over 51,000 views and is still getting pinned. Go figure that the most viewed post is the one that I had the least amount of involvement with. Ha!
That said, I can’t leave without talking about furniture. I’m not going to show you my most popular, my most pinned, or my most commented on piece. Instead, I want to show you a piece that I just did the other day and posted about on Thursday.
Why this piece?
Well, I was asked by a local company if I’d be willing to donate one of my furniture creations to American Cancer’s Society Relay For Life auction.
Uh….absolutely!
If you didn’t already know, I name all of my furniture pieces. Since I sell my pieces, and get inquiries, it is much easier for me and my customers to be able to identify them with a name rather than “the vintage dresser with yellow drawers and stained body…” For this piece, I chose REFLECTION. Yes, it does make literal sense because of the mirror, but it was more so for the cause itself.
REFLECTION
Cancer has affected my family more times than I want to count and most recently, I lost my mother-in-law and brother-in-law to cancer within a three-month period. I have had my own personal scare and have watched people I love suffer to the point that nothing but anger consumes you at times. This piece is about hope and determination and is my small way of being able to help the cause without anger - just gratitude for those who have survived the disease, and honor for those who put up the bravest fight one can give but in the end, had to let go.

Thanks so much to Laura for having me today. Laura has been one of my blogging friends from the beginning and she is one of the nicest people you’ll ever come across in this crazy viral DIY world of ours. Not only that, she is a kick-in-the-pants and appreciates a lot of things that are near and dear to me as well, like football. LOL.
Oh, and family too ;)
Congratulations Laura for a terrific year and here is to many more my friend!
Be inspired,

Thank you so much, Shari!
Can you believe how awesome she is?
Yeah.
Me either!
And I am totally looking forward to the MANY years
I get to see Shari's fabulous creations and for the many kicks in butt I'm sure she'll give me when I need to get my butt in gear!
Yeah.
I was scared to tackle it, but Shari bugged me to death, so I had no choice but to give in and do it.
It's been pinned over 1,000 times and was my first real foray into furniture makeovers.
I owe a large part of where I am today, to Shari.
Love you, girl!
Please stay tuned tomorrow
for one of the funniest ladies in blogland...
