(Or if you don't have chimney...)
The stockings were hung on a Goodwill shelf
(that I scored for $5.00)
in the back corner of the living room
in the back corner of the living room
over the top of my son's toy corner...
with care, of course.
with care, of course.
HA!
If you've been following along with my ramblings for a while,
you know I have a thing for Fabri -Tac.
Seriously, I'm like their non-sewing spokesperson.
I love this stuff!
You might remember me making these owl pillows...
No Sewing involved, except for the hand stitching.
Beacon Adhesives, the manufacturers of Fabri-Tac
gave me a shout out for those on Twitter.
SWEET!
But seriously, if you want to create something, but don't know how to sew (like me), all you have to do is put the Fabri-Tac where the seam would normally go.
It looks and works like glue.
And the hold is strong.
This is what you need:
Fabri-Tac Fabric Adhesive
Fabrics of Choice
Embellishments of Choice
Clothespins
And here's how you do it...
I started out with this pattern I found online.
I printed off, cut out, and pieced it together with straight pins.
(Tape would work too, though.)

| If this is your pattern, please let me know so I can give you credit. I can't remember where I found it! |
Lay your pattern on top of your fabric
and trace it with a piece of chalk.
One for each side, two for each stocking.
Then cut your stocking sides out.
Next, you're going to apply your Fabri-Tac.
Put it on about an inch in on the right-side of the fabric
and smooth it out so the application is thin.
Place your second side, right-side down on top on the first side.
Then clip your clothespins around the edges, about 2 inches apart.
Leave to dry for 45 minutes or so.
While you're waiting for the Fabri-Tac to dry,
you can cut out the cuffs of each stocking in a contrasting fabric.
(I used canvas.)
You can make it as big as you'd like.
I made mine a little bit bigger than the top of the stocking.
Next, turn your stocking right side out.
Run a thin line of Fabri-Tac across the top edge of your stocking.
If you're using burlap, be careful to not put so much
that you glue your top shut.
Line the top edge of your stocking cuff up
with the top edge of your stocking
or let it overlap a bit.
Then, glue the edges at the side seams and at the bottom.
Trim off the excess on the sides
and tuck the edges into the seam for a more finished look.
Apply the clothespins to the places where you've put Fabri-Tac.
Leave to dry.
You can also apply your embellishments, like lace,
and your strip of fabric for a hook, at this time.
And there you have it, a No-Sew Stocking.
From my experience, they're sturdy.
I put a few things in them and they held wonderfully.
I love Fabri-Tac!!
Perfect for non-sewer like me!
:)
Dream Big,
