Welcome to our home!
Circa 1905 when it was completed after three long years of building...
When we moved in...
And then today...
After cleaning up the jungle of yard, piles of junk everywhere,
and replacing all of the "Have To's",
and replacing all of the "Have To's",
we quickly moved inside to begin making the house our own.
It's been a long process, but over the last couple of years
we've been able to make a dent in this big ole place.
This is our Living Room:
It's soon to get a another makeover,
to match the white trim I've painted in the rest of the house,
to match the white trim I've painted in the rest of the house,
and a new wall color to brighten the space up.
That's something I'm saving for those long winter days,
when it's cold outside and there's nothing better to do.
Last year, because the room is so long and was originally a dining room,
I decided to add a an eat-in area in the back of the room.
Dining Room...
In the nook under the stairs in the parlor is a very small full-sized Bathroom.
and a coat of fresh white paint.
Our daughter's room is one of my favorite spaces in our home.
I made over her room two years ago, with a teeny-tiny budget.
I love how bright and happy it is.
Our Master Bedroom...
It is so relaxing, that sometimes I just go in there and sit.
Our Sons' Room...
We still have several rooms that are bashful right now.
Namely, the Kitchen...
The Entryway...
The upstairs bathroom...
The Parlor...
and the Back Porch.
But, considering when I began this blog three years ago because we had done absolutely nothing to the inside of this ole place, I think I'm making some really great progress.
I hope you'll join me on our journey, as we complete these room one day at a time.

Laura, you have done so, so much since you began! Plus, you know, all the stuff you've crafted and painted and sold at the shop! Birthdays, anniversary parties... you always have something cooking ;) I still remember when you painted the stairs. So many wonderful transformations :) I am sure the hall will be light & bright when you're done.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Lots of hard work and the results are awesome!
ReplyDeleteLove it! We just moved into a home built in 1910... any ideas on how to brighten the long narrow hallway upstairs? I can not figure mine out.
ReplyDeleteYour home is so pretty. Looks like a story book! What is the paint color/brand that you used in your daughters room? I love it too!!!
ReplyDeleteLaura, your home is so pretty! You have accomplished a lot in a short time. Love all your painted pieces and the lovely colours mixed with all the white. Your family photos are lovely too.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Hopefully some day the front porch will be rebuilt like in the original photo :-)
