you can't do it all.
Feeling overwhelmed...
Stressed...
Worried...
Feeling like, well, you're going to bite the head off of anyone that looks at you wrong, it's time to take a step back and reevaluate.
As much as I like to act like I can handle it all,
sometimes I have to admit I can't.
Facebook takes a lot of time,
blogging even more.
Then you throw in family responsibilities and deadlines for a store and things that need to be done on the home front and sometimes you just have to say...
I can't do it.
I've been running full tilt since May.
Furniture for the store.
Painting and crafting at full speed.
Trying not to miss a single day blogging...
And my house looks like it.
My kids are feeling like it.
I'm actually surprised that Scott hasn't said anything.
Or maybe he was just letting me come to my own conclusion.
(He knows that if he said anything, I'd just be even more determined to do it all. LOL!)
But when you take the time
to sit back and think about it...
When you find yourself snapping
at the ones you love most...
Apologizing more and more
for a temper that's way too short...
And you're at a friends house for a fun evening and instead of thoroughly enjoying yourself, you're just plain tired and thinking more about what you could be doing at home or what you NEED to be doing at home instead of being in the moment, it's time to sit back and re-evaluate.
Sooooo...
No blogging.
No Facebooking.
No nothing.
For 2 weeks.
Can I manage???
Can I stay away???
Hopefully.
I promise I will do so without feeling guilty.
I promise I will do so with a smile on my face.
And I will accomplish A LOT.
So, I will see you all in two weeks.
Refreshed.
Restored.
And hopefully with lots of goodies to show you because I'm not wasting precious time worrying about blog posts, follower numbers, and "like" numbers.
Too honest?
Maybe so.
But I feel a load lifted from my shoulders
that I didn't even know I was carrying by just writing this post.
Still love me?
I hope so.
And hopefully...
I'll see you back here in a little while.

ReplyDeleteOh......even if you are tackling chores and running kids around, ENJOY EVERY MINUTE OF YOUR BREAK!!! See you in a couple of weeks!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your break! You deserve it. :)
ReplyDeleteSTILL LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!! But I guess I'll have to text you since you're not on the computer and probably didn't notice that I sent a bag of "goodies" home to Iowa with my dad for you!! :):) Have a great break, and I think ALL of us bloggers need to take a lesson from you! You're the best, Laura. And a GREAT example to follow!
ReplyDeleteYou are so right to do so!! I've haven't been checking my blog or facebook for about 3 weeks/1 month now (untill I started checking it out today) and it's been wonderfull!!
ReplyDeleteDon't get me wrong, I love my blog, I love my facebook, I love my crafting, I was just done! I didn't stop in time and take a break, instead I went on doing everything from early morning untill way to late at night. The break wasn't planned, it just happened and I just couldn't do it anymore. So, yes, you should take that break when you need it! Don't let it go on untill you no longer have a choice! And when your back, so will we! Enjoy, take some rest and, for a little while, forget about us all! :-) Take care, Greetz Dee
