Hello Our Prairie Home Readers!

The name is Jen
and I blog over at Four Marrs & One Venus!

On my blog you can find stinky boys, cool crafts, grubbing recipes, sweet dance moves
and hopefully, lots of laughs!

Thank you Laura for having me today!

I can't wait to share with your readers a new tradition we started in our house this year!

Derek is 5.9 years old and turning 6.0 August 7.

He is really, I mean, really excited about his Birthday this year!

My great friend Co shared this fun idea with me
that she does with her girls!

A Birthday Tree!

A what

A Birthday Tree!

-Grab a Mini Tree {I scored this guy after Christmas at Michaels paying 6 bucks for him}

-Take your kiddo to Dollar Store and let him grab some decorating goodies!

-Create some memorable Birthday Ornaments! I did one for each year!

-And the Birthday Tree stays up for their entire Birthday Month!

For the Ornaments I used the little wood ones at Michaels! I had some numbers that I used as well! I loved personalizing them with Derek's photos!

Let yourself go wild!

Grab your paint, Mod Podge,
ribbon, photos and have fun!

Now for the fun part!

Derek absolutely loved putting the tree up, fluffing and decorating! He enjoyed looking at the different ornaments I created! He loved the photo ones and couldn't believe he was ever that little!

Is that not the Cutest Idea ever?

This Special Birthday Tree will stay in the
Birthday Boy's Room all August!

He is so so excited
and loves plugging it in every night!

So what do you think? You going to score a cheap tree after Christmas so you can start the Birthday Tree Tradition in your home? I think you should!

You can always find me over at my
little space and I love me some FB

Come on over and say hi!

No knocking required!

Thank you very much for having me, Laura!

Is that not the coolest idea???

I totally think my younger two would love this idea!

What a great way to make your child feel special all month long!

Warning:  Better steer clear of me the day after Christmas, I'm going to be determined to score a cheap Christmas tree!

LOL!

Thanks Jen, for dropping by!
