Mornin' y'all!
Firstly, I just wanted to take the time
to thank everyone for chiming in to help me
with ideas on our west entry way.
Such great ideas!!
You've given me LOTS to think about!!
If you're a no reply commenter,
PLEASE change your settings so I can respond to you.
I always feel bad when I can't reply
to the sweet people who take the time to comment on my posts.
:(
Unfortunately, I have done NA-DA with the space.
1) DST has completely knocked me for a loop.
I drag tail all day, only to be wide awake at night.
It's never affected me this badly before,
so it must be because I'm getting old. ;)
2) My SIL (Scott's sis) reminded me last week
that I was nominated to handle the decorating/invitations
for Mom and Dad's 50th Wedding Anniversary party.
I am so excited to have that honor!!
Soooooo...
Guess what I've been doing?
Pinterest perusing...
Photo scanning....
And invitation layout making.
I have just under 2 months and
I have vowed not to do the same thing that I did
with Eva's birthday party.
Namely...
Procrastinate and leave everything until the day before
with the exception of the invitations.
LOL!
So for a little while, the entry way has been put on the back burner
and I'm full steam ahead on the planning.
Can you even imagine being married for 50 years?!
Lord willing, Scott and I will make it there.
In this day and time a small fraction of couples have the opportunity
to celebrate their golden anniversary.
What a wonderful milestone!
I feel a huge amount of pressure to make sure everything is just right.
Especially since Scott's mom hasn't enjoyed the best of health
in the last 8 years.
I have about a gazillion ideas running through my head, as usual...
It should be fun to try to narrow it down
to the exact feeling I'm going for.
:D
So, bear with me if I'm not around much.
I think doing this is much more important than any ole entry way.
Or maybe I'm just procrastinating...
Ah-gain.
:)

Oh Laura-
ReplyDeleteI just loved seeing those pictures through the years.......weren't they just so sweet and young in 1963?
What a neat thing, fifty years married, that's so awesome.
I just lost my aunt and uncle - within one week of one another - who were one year shy of their 60th wedding anniversary. Even at the end they couldn't be apart.
I know with you in charge everything will go perfectly, and guess what? Your entryway will be waiting for you when it's done.
You are right, you are working on much more important things right now, have fun with it.
Bless you and yours!!
Procrastination is my middle name! Don't feel bad. You are going to find the perfect invitations online...there are so many talented people out there.
ReplyDeleteLoved seeing your family pictures, what a story they tell. Your mom and dad are such a sweet couple!
XO,
Jane
Sweet family pictures. 50 years wow!!! Congratulations to them both.
ReplyDeleteYou'll do it all up perfectly beautiful.
Procrastination... that's what it is. Here I was thinking it was my artistic temperament :-)
Hugs, Gee
Oh how fun. I would love to throw a party like that, even though it would stress me out to the max. Also, I thought I would let you know I posted about our mudroom - since you are onto the same thing soon. Feels good to have it done! What's next?.......
ReplyDeleteNow that I know where the door opens in your side tracked project I can go back and maybe have some ideas. But I have time, I know you are in full on party planning mode, which is fun. You make it special for them, like you said few couples get to celebrate that milestone.
ReplyDeleteBliss
Congratulations to your parents! My parents just celebrated their 50th last week. :) it is quite an accomplishment! Good luck with your decorations!!
