I'm Still Living, I Promise. (Decoration Sneak Peek)

I cannot believe that I have gone nine days without posting.

Craziness.

That's one word that pert near sums up the happenings here.

My life has been taken over by 50th anniversary preparations.

My mantle is still sporting St. Patrick's Day decorations.

I have piles of supplies in every nook and cranny of the dining room and parlor.

There is a fine coating of gold glitter everywhere.

Scott said, while looking at me the other day,
"People are going to wonder what your night job is,
if you keep going around with glitter all over you."

HA HA HA!

And then just for fun...

Let's add some funky virus that has knocked me on my butt for the last 4 days.

You know the one...

Shakiness...

Weakness...

Fever...

Coughing...

Great big globs of...

Nevermind.

Even I think that's TMI.

;)

I am at its mercy for the moment.

Go away already!  Doesn't it know that I'm on a deadline???

But just to show you that I have been up to a few things,
I've decided to share a sneak peek of some of the stuff I managed to do before my life got interrupted by the flu and lots of couch/bed time.

It amazes me how weak I am.

I couldn't even hardly hold the camera still.

Seriously!

Anyhoo...

What have I been doing?

Let's see...

Two wreaths for the entry doors...

100 party favors...

Piles of tulle poufs...

and piles of pleated paper flowers...

to make garlands.

And last night, after 3 days of working on it 15 minutes at a time,
I finally finished the main focal point of the Memories Table.

I can't tell you how frustrating it is to not have the strength to do the simplest tasks!

If I was at 100%, it would have been knocked out in a few hours.

:(

Unfortunately, the list of things to do is much larger than the list of things done.

So....

This stupid bug needs to go on about itself and let me get to it.

As Scott said yesterday,
"Okay, Laura...  You need to get better soon
because it's beginning to look like I'm going to have to be the one
to start cleaning around here."

BAH HA HA HA!

Heaven Forbid!

LOL!

Only 3 weeks and counting until the party!!

I cannot wait to see how it all comes together.

And if I'm lucky, it'll all work out just like I'm picturing it.

  1. Oh how I know how you feel. I had bronchitis and double ear infections. I felt like I had no energy. It has been three weeks and finally I feel 75% back to normal. Do what you can do then rest and do more. You will feel better eventually. It is so depressing to feel so bad. It looks like you have accomplished some beautiful things. Just feel better.

  7. I have been reading your blog for several months and I love to hear from you and see all the pretty things you create! I have something funny to tell you that just may get a chuckle....I put on a brand new pretty, feminine, lavender top today and headed to town (yep, we live so far out we still call it town lol) and I shopped all day and felt confident and pretty (you know how a new top and a good hair day make you feel ) but when I got home, I realized I had a HUGE 3 inch long green and white toothpaste drip on my shirt!!! My husband commented and said "honey, it looks like a taradactile (sp?) flew over you! GET WELL SOON! Angela "Lynne"
