It's not very often that I share recipes.
There's a reason for that...
Come a little closer and I'll tell you...
"I don't like to cook."
Now my secret is out.
Believe me, my poor family knows.
Bless their little pea-pickin' hearts.
Cooking is something that I don't like to do in the slightest
- unless it's, of course, a holiday.
Then it's like I store up all my non-cooking-ness
in the months between Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter
and then I put out whole spreads of home cooking greatness.
The rest of the time...
So, anytime I share a recipe with you,
you know it has to be one of three things.
2. Idiot Proof
These Bird's nest treats are all three and my family loves them!
I actually made these last year for
our family Easter get together and everyone just scarfed them.
Because everyone liked them so much,
I thought a re-share was in order.
I found this recipe in last spring's FOLK Magazine
and it was shared by Amy at Momma Hen's Coop.
They looked so cute, that I just had to try them!
First, gather up the ingredients listed above...
Then spray Pam on a silicone muffin pan.
Next, combine the peanut butter, unsalted butter,
and marshmallows over medium heat.
Then add the Vanilla and Chow Mein Noodles...
Then take your noodle mixture and press it into your muffin pan
as soon as it's cool enough to touch, but not set up yet.
Make a small indention in the center to shape the "nests":
Let cool and then pop your nests out and place on wax paper.
When the nests are completely cool to the touch,
put in your eggs, and there ya go!
Way cute little bird's nest treats!
Like rice krispie treats...
But more cute.
Speaking of rice krispy treats...
I also made this at the same time:
Rice Krispy Cake
It's even easier yet...
Make 2 batches of Rice Krispy Treats.
Dye one with food coloring and press into a well greased Bundt pan.
Leave the 2nd batch as is and press on top of the colored batch.
Flip pan upside down and knock it a few times to release the "cake".
Then embellish as you wish.
This was gone lickety-split last year.
If you need a quick and easy treats
to take to your East family get together this year...
I can't think of anything easier.
